The Magic of life

Many young people suffer due to submitting to their limitations as a result of no having discovered their potential. (Víctor Chico Jimenez)

I was a young apprentice magician who couldn’t pull off the trick of happiness. It seems that it’s not enough to desire it. It’s actually sometimes necessary to leave behind certain things and begin to get out of the dark.

It’s not about saying “abracadabra” and then everything starts to work. It’s acts and not magic words that lead to making that trick happen.

I was a young apprentice magician for whom once again the trick of life wasn’t turning out very well. I was that young apprentice magician that sought the trick of life by thinking that magic was a lie and it would be unmasked by the magician; I was a young apprentice magician that lived with closed eyes and did bad tricks to himself that never worked, thinking that it was a normal thing to do. I was a young apprentice magician that lived frustrated waiting that some other wizard would come and make me disappear; I was a young apprentice magician that didn’t believe in magic and every time I saw other magicians doing good tricks, I said they were impossible to do.

I did impossible tricks like the great Harry Houdini, but it was from myself that I was trying to escape. There’s no magician who can do that trick, and ropes increasingly started to tighten around me; I was that young apprentice magician who was divining  his life fortune cards badly.

Life is pure magic but you have to believe in it for the magic can work. Now I’m a young apprentice magician who started to comprehend that magic words can only work if you carry them out later. I’m a young apprentice magician that now can see the magic of life which you can feel it deep inside  yourself or you’ll never learn. I’m just a young  apprentice magician who has finally begun to understand.

You’re the magic and the magician, you’re the trick and the spectator, you’re the hall full with open mouths looking at your show. You’re the applause of the standing crowd, you’re the audience with eyes shining full of hope and can’t believe what just saw. You’re the magic itself because life is magic and being alive is magic as well. But for the trick to work you first have to believe; to believe in magic is to believe in life. To believe in life is to believe in myself and to believe in myself is also to believe in you.

Your life is a magician’s hat and only you can decide what to pull out of it. Only you decide whether to live removing envy, hate, criticism and anger. Or use the magic wand that each person has inside and do the greatest trick of your life which is nothing other than letting the heart guide you. If you do this trick and start living with you heart you’ll make bad things disappear forever and this is no contradiction. There’s no spell to undo this enchantment because life is better that magic itself for it is no illusion. Life is more magical than magic and reality is always stranger than fiction.

Dedicated to: Alberto Varela for being an inspiration to make me really live. Thanks for helping me to wake up.

Ayahuasca is a wand that allows you to see how can the trick be done, but the magic makes the magician and the magician isn’t anyone other than themself. Magic is life and I am starting to feeling it. Thanks Alberto.
